OFFICIAL SOUTHSIDE TITANS SUMMER GEAR IS AVAILABLE AUGUST 2ND

Once again, it is time to purchase your official Southside Titans summer gear for 2010 .  Many of you have been asking, requesting and demanding your request to purchase.  Trust us, we have heard you loud and clear.  Most importantly, most of our children are now financially taken care of as it ties to league fees, team dues, equipment, paperwork, etc.  With that being said, we will begin taking orders on Monday, August 2nd, 2010.  We will leave an open period for you to purchase over the next two to three weeks.  The final day to purchase Titans gear will be Friday, August 20th.  For those that are asking about prices, official customized team jerseys Youth-A2X will be $55.  They are available in either red or white.  Anything above a 2X will be $60.  Ballcaps will be $20 and they come customized in either red, white or black.  T-shirts are available in either red, white, black or gray.  The cost for all t-shirts from YXS-AXL are $15. For sizes 2X-4X, the cost is $16 and anyone needing a 5X is $17.  If you want official coaches shirts, like what the coaches wear, that price is only $40.  For those who need customized towels to wave around at the ballgames, that cost is only $10.  If you need pom poms to cheer the kids on, that cost is $15.  Of course, both of these are available in red, white or black.  The Southside Titans Family is very strong in the community and at sporting events and it reflects in an obvious way compared to other teams because of the support you show to your team and organization by purchasing Titans gear.  Start saving your money now and be ready to place your official orders.


UPCOMING AUGUST EVENTS

Saturday, August 14th...Team Spirit Day @ Edwards Park.  This includes team introductions, cheerleader introductions, olympic games for the players and the abilility to rent fundraiser booths ($25 separate fee, but we keep the profits).  Afterwards, there will be an All White Party for the parents only during the evening at the lake.  Cost is $10 to attend the All White Party.

Sunday, August 15th-Friday, August 20th...Mandatory and Official Team Certification.  Time and place is still to be determined.  Please make sure all kids have an original birth certificate, recent report card and photo ID to match the teams roster.

Saturday, August 21st...Mandatory YBI Round Robin at Edwards Park.  Teams do not have to officially be in their team uniforms but they will be asked to play.  Times are still to be determined.

Saturday, August 28th...The official 2010 football/cheerleading season will begin with league play with the eventual champion playing on the  television championship games on Saturday, November 13th.

Saturday, August 28th-Sunday, August 29th...Southside Titans Adult Semi-Pro Football Tryouts.  Saturday's time will be at 10am and Sunday's time will be at 3pm.  Cost is $25.  Each player must officially complete both the enrollment form online and sign their player contract in order to take part in the tryouts.  Please contact coach Hall for more information.

FREE FOOTBALL CLINIC FOR THE KIDS WEDNESDAY JULY 14TH

Coach Willis Alexander is the head coach of Douglass High School.  In addition, he is a classmate of our founder.  Coach Alexander wants to take this opportunity to once again thank our Southside Titans football players for attending the annual Douglass Trojans FUN-DA-MENTAL Footbal Camp.  The camp was held from 9am-Noon on Wednesday, July 14th at Douglass' Moses F. Miller Stadium.  Free T-shirts and food was provided for our children afterwards.  This camp was a way for all of our young aspiring football players to receive high quality football instruction from the Douglass football staff and their guest coaches.  These kids had fun learning how to play football at a high level.  The price of this camp was FREE.  Thanks to all of our great parents who brought their children out to the camp.  We had a total of 33 children at this years event.  Thanks is also extended out to each head coach and the assistants who showed presence at the camp with their children.  Coach Alexander and the Trojans constantly gives back to the community and our Southside Titans are thankful to be able to take part in this annual community event.  We can't wait until next year!!!



TITANS WORKOUT DAY & TITANS FAMILY SWIM JUNE 19TH

Our annual Southside Titans football/cheerleading workout day took place once again on Saturday, June 19th, 2010 from 2pm-5pm at our practice field, Schilling Park.  All children wore their shorts, t-shirt and their cleats/running shoes.  When I say it was a large turnout, I really mean it was large!!!  We had over 100 children present.  Close to 80 of the children were either involved in football or cheerleading.  As for the entire Southside Titans Family, the total count was over 150 people.  We wanted to thank all the parents who were diligent in turning in all their paperwork and football dues.  The workout day concluded with a football and cheerleading parental meeting.  Great information was shared and communicated professionally to our Titan family.  Immediately afterwards, our annual Titans Family Swim was in full effect exclusively for those individuals who attended and completed the Titans workout day.  From Schilling Park, we made a caravan to Will Rogers Aquatic Center.  As always, we came into the water park in large numbers.  From the smallest of the smallest to the oldest of the oldest, we had a  total of 63 people getting totally wet and wild.  We had great Titan fellowship amongst each other.  We want to thank everyone who took part in this years Titans workout day and family swim.  We can't wait until next years annual event.



LADY TITANS 6TH/7TH GRADE BASKETBALL GAME

Our beloved Lady Titans 5th/6th Grade basketball team headed were recently involved in the spring league basketball season.  They had a maturing spring season that placed us on the south side of the 500 mark for wins and losses.  Looks like our Lady Titans are officially taking a rest until the start of the fall and winter season.  We are so proud of all of our Lady Titans and their efforts they demonstrated.  If you have a daughter interested in joining the Lady Titans for the upcoming 6th/7th grade fall and winter season, please complete our sports enrollment form on our website.  Within 48 hours, a Southside Titans coach or staff member will contact you.  If you have any additional questions, please contact our founder.  He is listed on the "Contacts" page of the website.  Go get em' Lady Titans!!!



CONGRATULATIONS TO ROBBIE DIAMOND JR.

February 4th, 2009 was the NCAA Division 1 Football National Signing Day.  We have one of our own former Maroon Panthers/Southside Titans football players who will be playing football on the national level.  Congratulations are in order for Robbie Diamond Jr for all his efforts while attending Putnam City Original High School.  He will be attending Weber State University in Ogden, Utah this summer on a four year full ride athletic scholarship.  As a football captain, his 96 tackles and 3 interceptions at the safety position earned him honors in his conference, district and was awarded player of the year at his school.  Offensively, he was a special threat at the wide receiver postion with 3 touchdowns and an all conference and all district accolades averaging 14 yards a catch.  Recently on May 30th 2009, Robbie was a starter on both sides of the field in the annual and prestigious Jim Thorpe 2009 All Star Weekend.  This classic involved him playing as the featured receiver and free safety against some of the best players in the state of Oklahoma.  For those who don't know Robbie, this is the son of our Southside Titans founder, Robbie Diamond Sr.  This 2009 year was special for coach Robbie Sr. because five of his former players he coached were also chosen to play division 1 NCAA football.  Way to represent the Southside Titans family Robbie Jr!!!

MANDATORY TEAM CERTIFICATIONS BEGIN AUGUST 15TH-20TH

Attention all head football coaches and secretaries.  Our mandatory football team certifications will take place the week of August 15th-20th.  All official team league fees have been paid and the next step in the process is to certify as a legal and official team.  We are asking all head coaches and their secretaries to have all their paperwork, forms, rosters and legal documents (already received from their parents on their team) in their official team books at least by Monday, August 2nd.  Your team rosters must be typed up representing the number of players you anticipate on having on your roster for the upcoming 2010 football season.  Please note that the week of August 15th-20th is now the official certification that involves bringing the children.  In addition, each team roster must be turned must be received online at least 48 hours prior to your teams official certification date.  If your team is not registered or if your team roster is not received on time along with the proper paperwork, we will pay a $100 inconvenience penalty fee mandated by the league.  These important dates and times only involve the athletes coaches and their secretaries.  It is important to be present and on time.  Below will be the soon to be released location, dates and times for each of our teams.

The football and cheerleading season for 2010 is quickly upon us.  With that being said, we want to give you a reminder that your childrens fees are due NOW to be a part of this years 2010 Southside Titans.  Please remember that league rules will only allow so many on a team, so please pay your fees in advance to avoid your child not being in a position to participate and or play.  Many of you have already paid in advance and your spots are reserved for your children.  Although our football and cheer season begins officially on Monday, July 5th, We still have parents paying for their children beyond the July 5th deadline.  Please note that if your childrens fees are not paid in full by Saturday, July 17th, late fees will apply.  If you have any questions about signups, fees, etc, please contact one of our secretaries or coaches listed below:

SOUTHSIDE TITANS SEMI-PRO FOOTBALL

The Southside Titans Family continues to grow in the community.  Be on the lookout for our brand new Southside Titans semi-pro football team.  This will be a very competitive adult league football team for anyone eighteen years of age and up that has a true desire and love to play this game.  We will be looking for former high school stars, college standouts and individuals with semi-pro experience and above.  We already have quite a few players from around the city that have caught the whisper about our latest organizational venture.  In addition, we already have a head coach and assistant coaches officially in place and ready to go for the upcoming 2011 football season.  Workouts, weight lifting, conditioning and practices will start sometime in late summer to early fall.  If you are ready to be a part of something really special within our wonderful Southside Titans Family atmosphere, please go to the "Semi-Pro Adult Football" page of our website and complete the semi-pro enrollment form.  After completing the form, please contact Coach Rodney Hall at 405-520-9277.   If you have additional questions pertaining to our organization, please contact our founder.  He is listed on the "Contacts" page of our website.



SLOW DOWN ON YOUR WAY TO PRACTICE...OR RECEIVE A TICKET

For those who are not aware, while traveling along S.E. 25th on your way to our pratice field (Schilling Park), We want to remind you that the speed limit is only 30 miles per hour.  The police are very visible and strong in numbers waiting on you to purposefully speed so that they can give you your speeding ticket.  In addition, please make full stops at all stop signs to avoid getting a ticket.  Most importantly, we have quite a few children at our practice and we want to be cautious of all of our children and our wonderful parents who bring them to practice on a daily basis.  Thank you in advance parents for following the speed limits.  Don't forget to wear your seatbelts too.

CANDLE FUNDRASIER ORDERS WILL BE IN MONDAY AUGUST 2ND

Attention all Southside Titans parents.  We have officiall concluded our candle fundraising efforts.  What a fundraiser!!!  Our teams all came out with some extra monies to help go towards their future causes.  We want to thank each of the parents that participated for a job well done.  In addition, the top individual fundraiser amongst all of our teams will receive a $50 reward.  The team that sold the most candles will also take part in a pizza party.  Now that all monies pertaining to this candle fundraising drive, each teams orders will be available to be picked up on Friday, July 30th for delivery to your pre-paid patrons on Monday, August 2nd.  If you have any questions about your candle orders, please contact our fundraising chairperson (Simone') at 639-7196.

FULL FOOTBALL PRACTICE WITH EQUIPMENT BEGINS JULY 19TH

Attention all parents...Now that we have gone through a couple of weeks of straight conditioning, the time has now come for the kids to go into practice beginning on Monday, July 19th with all of their football equipment.  Each child must have: (1), Helmet (2), Mouthpieces (3), Shoulder pads (4), Football pants (5), Seven piece football pad set for their pants and (6) football cleats.  Our games begin officially in less than one month and for each day that your child is without full equipment, it affects both your child and the entire team as a whole.  Thanks to those who have already prepared in advance and purchased equipment.  If you haven't purchased your equipment but still have questions, please feel free to contact any football coach.


CHEERLEADING BLITZ FOR 2010

Attention all ladies...Attention all young ladies...Attention coaches past, present and future.  The Southside Titans is petitioning for the 2010 year to be populated with about 100 girls and about eight to nine cheerleading coaches.  As our organization continues to expand and grow into enormous numbers, we noticed that there are not enough girls to balance out our numbers and participate as well as support our teams in the world of cheerleading.  If you are a former cheer coach, or, if you took part in any any type of cheer team, pom squad, etc and would like to lead a group of girls, please contact Coach Robbie.  If you are a parent, and you would like your little lady to be a part of our upcoming 2010 cheer teams, please contact Coach Brittany at her new number whichh is 305-2075.  We are accepting young ladies as young as four and as old as twelve.  All children will be accepted.  The ladies will take part in cheerleading camps for the upcoming year as well as cheer competitions with the possibility of being on cable television.  To register your child, complete the enrollment form handout, or you can fill out the sports enrollment form online from our website.  If you are interested in accepting a coaching position, email

DID SOMEONE SAY SOUTHSIDE TITANS BOXING?

That's right...We have set up a Southside Titans Boxing Club.  We just completed our second boxing event at the Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club Gymnasium on Saturday, June 26th, 2010.  Once again, we had an enormous crowd.  There were about 400 people who attended this sporting event.  Boxing is an individual, but well respected disciplined sport.  We officially had our first ever boxing practice sessions on Monday, December 7th, 2009.  Our inaugural sanctioned event in January, 2010 was filled to capacity.  If you have children as young as age 7 up through the teenage years interested in taking part in this soon to be historical event, practices will be Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 6pm to 8pm.  We also have a few spots available for anyone interested in being a strength and conditioning coach and or trainer.  Please contact Coach Lavell Sims at 816-1013, or you can go to the "Boxing" page of our website.  We also have boxing available for the adults too on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 6p-8pm.  Once again, you can contact Coach Sims at the number listed above or via e-mail at

SOUTHSIDE TITANS SEMI-PRO MEET AND GREET JUNE 12TH

For those of you who are not aware, we recently set up a Southside Titans adult football team.  The response and sign ups have been outstanding in just the short amount of time that we made it offiical.  On Saturday, June 12th, we had a small meet and greet session involving our football players who have already signed up online via our semi-pro adult football page of our website.  We had a great crowd of 19 dedicated people who showed up.  After our official meet and greet, we took to the practice field to take part in 7 on 7 drills.  Everyone seemed so pleased with the organization and the professionalism of the Southside Titans.  Afterwards, we had a few more people sign up to be a part of our newest Southside Titans experience.  For those dedicated and serious players who are interested in a truly organized atmosphere, please complete our semi-pro adult football enrollment form and then contact Coach Hall at 405-520-9277.  Thanks...We will see you at our next future event.



DRUMLINE

We would like to set up a small drumline for the upcoming 2010 football season.  We are trying to find a couple of adults to be our music coordinators or drumline majors to assume the leadership of this group.  As for the kids, we would prefer that the kids range from ages 9-18 to take part in this drumline experience.  We would like to start drumline practice as soon as possible.  In addition, if you have any kids that play instruments or is in a position to donate instruments, contact our founder (Robbie) know!  For all drumline related info, he can be reached via e-mail at coachrobbie@southsidetitans.org .


ARE YOU READY TO GET IN SHAPE FOR THE SUMMER?

Freda Yamah is one of our Southside Titans family members.  She has a fitness boot camp known as Triple R Fitness with emphasis on results, recognition and repetition.  This opportunity to get you where you want to be physically and athletically is targeted to adult men and women of all ages.  This boot camp will run four days a week at Regional Park in Midwest City on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays in the mornings from 7am-8pm and again in the evenings from 7pm-8pm over the next six weeks.  Based on the groups participation, the times could change slightly to meet everyones flexibility.  If being in serious shape is of serious interest to you, please contact Freda directly at her business phone, 837-6460 and she can assist you with signups or any additional questions you may have.  In advance, Freda appreciates you for being involved and promoting her business.
